YouTube Bans Implied Threats
While telling about the implied threads, global head of trust and safety Matt Halprin said, “We will no longer allow content that maliciously insults someone based on protected attributes such as their race, gender expression, or sexual orientation. “This applies to everyone, from private individuals to YouTube creators, to public officials.” YouTube already bans the most direct threats but now the indirect threads will also be stopped. The content spreading violence or any unfavourable language also falls in the same list. This step is taken in continuation with the harassment by video creators. All the social media platforms have remained under pressure over the hateful and fake content spreading the hoax. Previously, YouTube had also announced that it will stop sharing bogus videos. Channels that will try to go against harassment policies will be removed from the platform. While telling about the newly launched feature, YouTube said: “If this behaviour continues, we’ll take more severe action including issuing strikes or terminating a channel altogether.”
